  • Use Space
  • Use Sound

-The use of space allows you to get comfortable with your surroundings.
-The use of sound energises space, the person around you.
*Important note
The presence of an awkward/insecure laughter becomes an uncommitted sound which is disengaging!

Activity 2: Leading a movement
>One person leads and the rest follow.

  • Commit to movement
  • Variation in one movement (Speed, Type, With feelings/emotions)
  • Be Confident
  • Have a clear thought/mind
  • Clean and Sharp ending into neutral state
  • Concentrate/Focus
  • Find a meaning for that particular movement

- The details are important!
- What is your state mind?
- Having a motivation will make the movement meaningful.

>>Extension of an activity (In a circle)

  • Intensify the movement
  • Be direction-less
  • Discover the cycle
  • Pay attention to details (Which leg moves first? What is the last position? Fast or Slow speed?)

- To intensify and exaggerate the movement by working harder to find a deeper meaning.
- It is okay that the movement was done are not 100% the same because everyone has a different energy.
- Each person will embody the movement offered and make it into their own unique style of action.
- Everyone draws inspiration by observing others.

>>Extension of an activity (In an open space)

  • Everyone must be on the same page
  • Alert
  • Aware of people and surroundings
  • Evolving a movement
  • Development requires people who lead to take risks

> Failure to do so will result in a DRAMATIC DEATH!!

- Dying Dramatically can help work on expression using a scale of 1 - 5.
- Try to have a sharp finish.

Activity 5: Create A Picture With Your Body
>Create a gesture/shape with your body to express the sentence

Material Title: What have I been doing lately - Cabarrus County

What have I been doing lately
I was lying in bed
And the door bell rang
I ran downstairs
Quick I open the door
There was no one there
I stepped outside
Either it was drizzling or there was a lot of dust in the air, the dust was damp
I stuck out my tongue and the drizzle or the damp dust tasted like government school ink
I looked north
I looked south
I decided to start walking back
While walking north I noticed that I was barefoot
While walking north I looked up and saw the planet, Venus

  • Need not be direct
  • Remember to freeze after each gesture/shape
  • Repeat sentence is to improve on your creation or practice it.
  • Enhance the gesture/shape to create a stronger effect
  • Sharp action
  • Add emotions
  • Play with heights, shapes, space and direction
  • Try to express your emotion in another way.

Activity 6: Conflict Scene
>Saying the line and then go into your pose
> Repeat structure

  • Improvising
  • 1st person needs to establish the character and conflict
  • Try a range of expression (Quiet - silence, Loud - Screaming)
  • No eye contact
  • Use words instead of actions to lash out your feelings
  • Be vulnerable and expose yourself to take conflict onto a personal level.
  • Say things that matter to you and not funny sentence

-You may find that the pose helps to draw out inspiration for the conflict.
-Everyone has to make things up with full commitment for it to be engaging.

TV Acting VS THEATRE Acting
-Tv acting has to be as real as possible

- Theatre acting is to create a make believe event, incident on stage.
- Theatre creates symbolic and metaphoric images.
- It gives people a sense of an idea without spoon-feeding them the information.
- Get them thinking
- The theatre is Abstract and Indirect like Picasso's Cubist Images that evoke feelings.

*Important to note
- Observation can help inspire creative ideas.
- Asking questions blocks and limits creativity.

Tourist's Guide to Malaysia 2014!

This trip with Sam was slightly different because of Boon Huat. I guess the whole atmosphere and experience changed because of him. There wasn't much attention and girl time given to me. :( Anyway, this is a review and reflection of the whole trip to Malaysia!

------------------------------------------- DAY 1 -----------------------------------------------

Snack Time for us!

The first stop was the waiting area where we got lots of FOOD!

First Timer!

This is Boon Huat! The first guy on our road trip! This is his first time to Genting!
Why did we bring a guy along? Why HIM?
Well, he is my friend's special person.

I don't know the name of this place but I can tell you that it is a place where cars stop and rest. There aren't many shops there to look at but it has the basics. There is a snack shop, a snack stall, a few food stalls and toilet.
Mee (something) and Teh Ice!

I, personally did not like the mee. Firstly, it was maggie mee. Secondly, there was a lot of small long veggies. Thirdly, the taste wasn't superb. The only good thing I would mention is the price.
I would recommend to you their Ayam Pengyet. This last stall's Ayam pengyet (according to my friend's aunt) taste good.

The storm is approaching!

The weather was horrible. I guess it was the winter season and Malaysia couldn't snow thus it could only rain. The 6 days, we experience rain almost every day. Welcoming it like an old friend.
Rojak and Satay @ Muar!

The next stop was a Muar! Samantha's Kampong! The rural area is filled with cheap good food! There are street food, stall food and normal food outlets. You will be able to spot a food station within every 5 miles! They each have their own secret recipe that will give a different taste.

Living Cabin @Wetex PRD Muar!

I bought a snow globe, the inside is an Eiffel tower. I wanted to buy a model Eiffel tower but I didn't have the money and space. :( The things sold at the mall is really cheap! I got myself a few pairs of contact lenses and a pair of new Bata shoe that cost 24.99RM. (Receipt: 2312140054)

Boon Huat's New Hair Cut!

So, at first, the plan was to shop and then later gather back for dinner. Apparently, we were all too full for dinner. We then change plans and went around the neighbourhood. Sam's Aunt wanted to wash her hair and we all went to the shop with her. Boon Huat wanted to cut his hair and was given this "in-trend" hairstyle!
Typical Food Stall @ Muar!

Dinner became supper, we went to a nearby food centre to eat. This is a typical food stall in Muar. All shops are similar. No air con, self-service only.

Muar's food is CHEAP and TASTY!

What food would I recommend? OTAH
The pandan-leaf-looking food is what I crave most in Muar! Each stall has a different taste, it can never taste the same. The first time around, I could taste the fish paste very distinctively. The second time around the paste was grinded finely that I could only savour the whole otah. You can pre-order a huge bulk of Otah at Muar. I don't know the exact location but there are signs boards outside the gate that inform you. Do look out and discover this hidden food places!

Free Car Wash Service!

After the delicious food hunt, a few of us wanted a massage.

Yang Yang Reflexology & Spa
Address:
No. 2-4 Jalan Kampung Tengah
Sg. Abong, 84000 Muar, Johor.
Number:
606-966 5524, 016-773 9598

Full Body 60/90 mins cost 60RM! Totally worth it!! I highly recommend this place!

We had fun!

It was near midnight and we were washing the car. Splashing water and scrubbing the mud off the car.

After washing, we got inside the house and pack up for tomorrow. I did a calculation and how much I spent today. It was a shocking sum of 200+RM on the first day. >_<
